How do I remove my forum name from the top just like Arch Linux?

Visit their forum here: bbs.archlinux.org

I'm talking about the large text that usually appears above Index, Search, Register, Login, and so on. Please help me.

Re: How do I remove my forum name from the top just like Arch Linux?

Just out of interest:
- why do you full quote my post? Is it "common" for you (eg. used to do so in other forums) or is there a special reason? I ask because I am more and more seeing full quotes - even with very long posts.

- why didn't you just try my suggestion to answer that "are you sure" on your own? It was no complicate DB query changing things, you just edit one of the templates the board uses.

Hi.

Yes, it's common for me to quote full posts, except for if they're really, really long.

I asked if that was the right answer because I was away from home and couldn't immediately test if it worked or not.

I've seen all sorts of stupid things on other forums - such as people quoting the entire message above theirs just to say "ok thanks" or something like that, multi-quoting messages just for the sake of it, all sorts of pointless things just because they're too lazy to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "reply".

In fact, some people even thought that people wouldn't get notified about a new reply unless they quoted the entire previous message. But, I do think it's better overall. On my forum, when it's over-used the quote is removed by a moderator, it distracts people from the purpose of the thread.

Speaking of which, to get back on topic, great you managed to fix the issue smile

Re: How do I remove my forum name from the top just like Arch Linux?

Thanks for clarification.

Maybe forums should auto check for "full post"-quotes and prohibit use (optional) ... just to keep things clean.
