Unfortunately no one can be told what FluxBB is - you have to see it for yourself.

NEW! Git repository setup

With the new situation regarding v2.0, our repositories have changed yet again.

As we are planning to release FluxBB 2 both as a stand-alone app and as a bundle for Laravel, development is split across two repositories.

The new repositories

The stand-alone app: https://github.com/fluxbb/fluxbb2
The bundle: https://github.com/fluxbb/core

(Most development will take place in the second repository.)

As we make use of submodules, make sure you clone those, too, when cloning the repository. You can do that like this:

git clone --recursive git://github.com/fluxbb/fluxbb2.git
The old repository

FluxBB 1.4/1.5 is still being maintained in the old repository, but we now have a master branch again. What was formerly the "fluxbb-1.5" branch, is now called "master".

So make sure your local repository clones are up-to-date. If you don't have a ton of local changes, the simplest way is to just re-clone the repository again. If you want to update your existing clone instead, make sure to update your tracking branches.

Re: NEW! Git repository setup

So, not sure how to do this. To add the bundle to an existing laravel install, would I just add something to the composer.json and do a composer update?

something like "fluxbb/core": "2.0.*", in the require section?

Re: NEW! Git repository setup

That *will* be the plan. You'd also have to add some service providers etc., but that is not yet complete.
