Re: Private forum

In Admin -> Forums, you can click "Edit" for every single forum and assign specific permissions to each group. Just disable "Read forum" and all the rest for guests.

[This should be moved to General Support]

Excepted if I don't understand something in your request, this is a core function. You can edit the group permissions for each forum you create; you can forbid guests access for example, or you can limit the access to a specific group of registered users.

Re: Private forum

You can hide the forum so that it only appears when members login. For guests it will look like this.

Just go to admin->forums->edit and untick guests under.

EDIT: beaten to it tongue

Re: Private forum

I disabled read option for Guest users but have one problem. Since the site is locked for a normal visitors the title on homepage starts with "info / .. " how do I correct this so that it displays proper title along with other meta tags, descriptions etc for Google to scan & SEO.

Re: Private forum

Essentially you would find the following code right at the beginning of index.php:

if ($pun_user['g_read_board'] == '0')
    message($lang_common['No view'], false, '403 Forbidden');

And replace it with something like this:

if ($pun_user['g_read_board'] == '0')
{
    $page_title = array('Your title goes here');
    define('PUN_ACTIVE_PAGE', 'index');
    require PUN_ROOT.'header.php';

    echo $lang_common['No view'];

    require PUN_ROOT.'footer.php';
}
