-I'm sorry, but we will only support MySQL PostgrSQL 8.4 and SQLite 3 for FluxBB 2, the other database schemes are should be made by the community. However, this can always change. But even then, I don't think MariaDB would make it. I guess we should than choose for MSSQL, Oracle or Firebird.
